Water Management and Big Data Analytics Report

Pollution Probe and the binational Council of the Great Lakes Region are pleased to announce the release of a new report, Water Management and Big Data: Examination of Opportunities and approaches to Leverage Data Science, Analytics and AI to support Watershed Planning and the health of our Great Lakes’ Ecosystem.

Funded by the RBC Foundation, this report presents highlights and recommendations from the Watershed Planning and Big Data workshop convened by Pollution Probe and the Council in February 2019. Stakeholders from the north shore of Lake Ontario gathered to discuss how to best leverage latest innovations in the area of data analytics, modelling and artificial intelligence (AI) to generate deep insights about the world around us and the knowledge that policy-and decision- makers need at their fingertips to protect watersheds in the Great Lakes basin while managing land use planning and supporting sustainable economic development.

Pollution Probe and the Council will continue working with our partners and supporters to protect our Great Lakes, and to identify policy options and measures to increase environmental protection and human health.
