Public Opinion Research: Purchasing Fuel-efficient Vehicles in Canada

This report begins with a discussion about the knowledge and attitudes about fuel efficiency, followed by an exploration of how fuel efficiency factors into the vehicle purchase decision, and opinions about the perceived impact and effectiveness of various public policy options. The report closes with a profile of recent and prospective purchasers of new vehicles in the CAA-SCO membership population. Appended are descriptions of the quantitative and qualitative methods employed in conducting this research, the survey questionnaire and the discussion guide.
