Samantha Lau

Lead, Research & Analysis

Samantha joined Pollution Probe in 2021 in the position of Lead, Research & Analysis. Sam is an environmental professional who is passionate about sustainability and conservation, and has engaged with national partnerships and initiatives advancing restoration and protection with Aquatic Habitat Canada. Her research interests include the broad impacts of anthropogenic activity in our natural environments. Sam has a BSc (Hons) in Marine and Freshwater Biology from the University of Guelph, and a MSc, Biology from McMaster University, specializing in Ecotoxicology. Her graduate work examined the effects of interactive stressors, like wastewater pollution and hypoxia, on fish health in Hamilton Harbour, Ontario. Sam is a passionate science communicator with a strong background in outreach and education, working with organizations like the Toronto Zoo, Wild Ontario, and Let’s Talk Science.
