Water Protection - Pollution Probe has a three-point drinking water programme based on a comprehensive approach to protecting drinking water through:
The Net Gain Principle has significant potential to lead us closer to improvements in the quality of our environment and development that is sustainable. Pollution Probe has researched, explored and produced publications on ways to develop and apply this principle. We are currently working with the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority to determine ways to apply "net gain" in a local watershed context. The Ottawa-Gatineau Watershed Atlas (OGWA) Project will integrate watershed management on both sides of the Ottawa River in addition to providing a comprehensive public educational tool to improve the management of one of the region’s most valuable resources. The project will take an ecosystem approach, utilizing a watershed boundary, rather than political boundaries, for the inclusion of collaborating partners, data and information.
