Final Report of the Pollution Probe Forest Carbon Management Workshop Series
Forest Carbon Management Pilot Series (April 2003 - )Following the conclusion of the workshop series, a number of individuals and organizations expressed an interest in developing an FCM implementation strategy that would address these issues. Participants in the meeting concluded that the above issues could best be advanced by establishing a series of FCM pilot projects across Canada which would allow outstanding FCM policy and science issues to be investigated further and potentially resolved. The Forest Carbon Management Pilots series in Canada will develop a standard protocol for measurement and monitoring of carbon and contribute to increased certainty in the creation of carbon credits through FCM activities. The first pilot series was held April 29-30 2003 in Ottawa, Ontario.
