But knowing what to look for and understanding what makes a vehicle more fuel efficient (or less so) may not always be obvious. Transport Canada's ecoTECHNOLOGY for Vehicles (eTV) program is helping to reduce the environmental impacts of passenger vehicles by working with manufacturers to acquire and test advanced vehicle technologies and by reducing barriers to their introduction in Canada. Read Transport Canada’s Electric Vehicle Primer, an introduction to hybrid, plug-in hybrid electric and battery electric vehicles, written in collaboration with Pollution Probe. The Government of Canada has released a report entitled "Electric Vehicle Technology Roadmap for Canada: A strategic vision for highway-capable battery-electric, plug-in and other hybrid-electric vehicles." Pollution Probe is a member of the Industry Steering Committee which took part in producing this report.
