The
Managing Shared Waters Resource Kit was developed to offer conference
participants and other interested coastal stakeholders a set of practical
tools and approaches that they can use in their coastal regions.
The contents are based on the background papers prepared for the
international conference and on the presentations and papers developed by
conference participants.
1) Background papers:
"Integrated
Coastal Management (ICM): Lessons Learned and the Challenges Ahead"
"Capacity
for Managing Transboundary Coastal Ecosystems — An Overview of the Four Case
Studies"
2)
Case studies which illustrate the capacity needs of four coastal communities
and present options for meeting these needs:
3)
Summaries on the tools, methodologies, products and services presented at the
conference. Stakeholders
will benefit from the exchange of information on tools and approaches used to
overcome common challenges for effective management of coastal ecosystems and
shared waters.
