Energy Exchange Plans Future Collaboration with Student Energy

Energy Exchange and Student Energy are pleased to announce that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that formalizes a work arrangement to collaborate on the advancement of energy literacy.

Under the agreement, the parties will actively seek opportunities to collaborate on promoting energy literacy. This will allow the organizations to identify efficiencies, leverage materials and resources, eliminate duplication and share best practices.

“We truly believe that given energy’s importance for prosperity and quality of life, the public benefits greatly from an enhanced understanding of energy systems, challenges and opportunities,” said Kali Taylor, Executive Director of Student Energy. “Together, we can achieve far more than we ever could apart, and this is why we are thrilled to collaborate with Pollution Probe. We want to push the needle on energy literacy.”

Energy literacy is a movement to create a common language and understanding of energy systems and resources. Improved energy literacy is key to achieving afuture that includes:

  • Thoughtful stewardship of energy resources;
  • Global leadership in the responsible development and distribution of energy; and
  • Innovative best practices and technology to conserve energy for the benefit of future generations.

Both organizations focus on providing neutral, science-based, non-advocacy educational material and learning opportunities to help promote open dialogue about our energy systems and the options that are available to us.

“Energy Exchange is delighted to tap into the creative power of students to help drive increased energy literacy,” said Ellen Pekilis, Executive Director, Energy Exchange. “We look forward to our collaboration with the goal of furthering the discussion on energy in Canada.”
