Paul Griss

Paul has worked closely with senior leaders from industry (energy, forestry, mining, agriculture and chemicals), federal/provincial/territorial agencies, conservation, environmental and social NGOs, First Nations and the science community on a wide variety of conservation and environmental issues in all regions of Canada for over 30 years.

Paul’s forte is convening senior decision-makers and influencers for dialogues to develop mutual understanding and demonstrate leadership on complex or potentially divisive issues. He also provides strategic advice to industry, governments, environmental organizations and others to help them better understand and navigate issues drawing on his deep and diverse professional background. Paul’s experience includes: the development of policy and legislation; energy resource development; sustainable forest policy and management; water policy; biodiversity conservation and protected areas; climate change and carbon offsets; the management of toxic chemicals; societal engagement; environmental governance; audits and program evaluations; and the creation and evaluation of standards, corporate stewardship programs, certification programs and voluntary initiatives.
