Pollution Probe and the University of Toronto's Institute for
Environmental Studies. will release a new report titled Environmental
Protection in a Competitive Electricity Market in
Ontario - Summary Report.
Similar to the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) concept that Pollution
Probe developed in the early 1970s for waste management, the report introduces
the new 3Es concept outlining what Ontario government can do to protect people
from the increasing levels of air pollution from coal-fired electricity.
The report calls for the Ontario government to implement measures,
which will ensure the people of Ontario receive both cleaner air and
competitively priced electricity in the new deregulated electricity market.
