Pollution Probe releases new booklet on smog

(Toronto, ON) Pollution Probe is pleased to release its new Smog Primer today, which is Clean Air Day Canada.

The Smog Primer has been produced by Pollution Probe to help Canadians better understand why smog is a problem, and what can be done about it.  This informative 61-page booklet explains how smog is formed, its effects on human health, and the things we can do to reduce smog pollution and protect ourselves and our children from harm.

“Pollution Probe receives more telephone calls, e-mails, letters and media inquiries on smog than any other subject”, says Quentin Chiotti, Air Programme Director for Pollution Probe.  “Knowing that smog is a problem is one thing.  Knowing what to do about it is just as important. This booklet is a comprehensive overview of what Canadians need to know about this serious environmental issue.”

The Smog Primer is available electronically at http://www.pollutionprobe.org/Publications/Air.htm.
